“International Conference on
 Integrated Sustainable Energy Resources in Arid Regions”

Owing to the ever increasing energy demand and rise in population, the human race is at the threshold of severe energy shortages in the near future. The non- renewable resources of the Earth are fast depleting and hence search for Integrated Sustainable Energy Resources and Technologies provide a symbol of hope for the betterment of the future.

The International Conference on Environment, fourth in its sequence, was held, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of United Arab Emirates. This year the Conference emphasized on the topic "Integrated Sustainable Energy Resources in Arid Regions".

It is jointly organized by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) and Reed Exhibitions and  co-organized by the World Renewable Energy Network (WREN) and the Economic and Social Commission for  Western Asia (UN/ESCWA), from 28th - 31st January 2007, at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. 

A special Forum called “The Arab Regional Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development: Strategies, Policies and Plans” was organized by   the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA), in conjunction with Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Environment (CAMRE Secretariat), UNEP/ROWA, and the Environment Agency (EAD) on February 01, 2007 (venue to be confirmed).
