The Establishment of
Abu Dhabi Environment, Health and Safety Center

The Executive Council of Abu Dhabi Emirate approved on 2nd February 2010 the establishment of “Abu Dhabi EHS Center” in order to provide a central and reference body for issues related to environment, health and safety and to monitor the implementation of the EHS Management System at the Abu Dhabi Emirate level.
Abu Dhabi EHS Center aims to provide a complete regulatory framework that includes all the requirements for implementation of the EHS Management System by Sector Regulatory Authorities and other government entities, in addition to the implementation of various projects related to the system and the development of capacities in this field through awareness and training.
The proposal for establishment of the Center was submitted to the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, as per the recommendations of the EHS Higher Committee, chaired by EAD.This Center will facilitate the implementation of Decree No. (42) of 2009 concerning EHSMS which was issued by H.H the Crown Prince, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and which specifies the roles and responsibilities of different parties in implementation.
The Center will establish partnerships with international organizations specialized in occupational health and safety to benefit from their experience in this field.
