1972-1975

In 1974, the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan-May Allah rest his soul in peace- signed 3 agreements as follows: 

Arab Forests & Pastures Institute under the supervision of States of Arab League Agreement
Seas Pollution and other hazardous waste Prevention Agreement
Endangered Animals and Plants Trading International Agreement 
    

1980-1983

In 1983, the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan-May Allah rest his soul in peace-signed several local and international agreements including people safety amidst sea International Agreement, International Regulations for Collisions amidst sea Prevention Agreement, International Agreement for Maximum Capacity of Ships, International Agreement for Oil Pollution of Seawater Prevention, International Agreement for right of intervention in case of occurrence of an incident because of overseas oil pollution, International Charter for Civil Liability for Oil Pollution Damages, International Agreement for setting up a fund for compensation for damages caused by oil pollution.                   

 

1984-1987

       
In 1987, the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan-May Allah rest his soul in peace- signed an international agreement, which was Ozone Layer Protection Agreement as per Montreal Protocol, noting that the world celebrates this event on the 16th of September of each year. 

 

1988-1991

The late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan-May Allah rest his soul in peace-, signed several agreements including Vienna Convention for the Protection of Ozone Layer and Marine Pollution Protocol resulting from exploration and utilization of the Continental Shelf in 1990. In addition, the marine environment protection from the land activities protocol was also signed in the same year. Above all, Basel agreement regarding the hazardous waste transfer and disposal was also signed.
